Orion Papadakis from UNIMAN presented in the 2023 ACM SIGPLAN International Symposium on Memory Management (ISMM 2023) a work on scaling up performance of managed applications on NUMA systems. This work acknowledges AERO and fits within the work of investigating mechanisms to boost the performance of managed applications. The workshop was co-organized with the PLDI 2023 conference and took place in Orlando, Florida, United States, on the 18th of June.
The work characterized the performance of 30 Dacapo and Renaissance benchmarks written in Java and proposed an online, and application-agnostic optimization for MaxineVM that capitalizes on the characterization in order to improve performance by 11%, on average, on a NUMA machine.
