Stratos Psomadakis from ICCS presented Elastic Translations at the 57th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Microarchitecture (MICRO’24), that took place in Austin, TX, USA, between the 2nd and the 6th of November, 2024.
The work was presented both in the main conference track sessions and during the poster session for the main conference track papers.
Elastic Translations have been developed in the context of the AERO project as an extension to the memory management subsystem of the Linux kernel, in order to transparently and optimally take advantage of the ARMv8-A OS-assisted TLB coalescing capability, in order to reduce the address translation overhead of virtual memory for workloads with very large memory footprints.
The paper is available in the conference proceedings, published by IEEE. A pre-print of the camera-ready version of the paper as well as the poster can also be downloaded from the AERO website.
